I designed this piece around some of the most recognizable imagery associated with the Horned God, including his large stag antlers, seated cross-legged pose, torc, and ram-horned serpent. Bring the wild, ancient presence of Cernunnos to your altar with my 3D-printed Cernunnos statue.

I wanted him to feel powerful without looking aggressive. His relaxed posture and steady expression give him the presence of an old guardian of the wild, while the antlers, serpent, flowing robes, and woodland-inspired backdrop give the statue a dense, almost ancient carved look.

The circular backdrop frames his antlers and creates a strong silhouette, while the small stag skull detail on the base ties the entire piece back into the imagery of the forest and the natural world.

Versatile Display: Perfectly sized for pagan altars, Druid spaces, witchy bookshelves, nature-themed rooms, or your oddities cabinet.

The Lore & Symbolism

Cernunnos is the name commonly given to an antlered deity found in ancient Celtic and Gallo-Roman imagery. Although relatively little written information about him survives, he is often associated today with wilderness, animals, fertility, abundance, life, death, and the cycles of the natural world.

One of the best-known ancient images connected with Cernunnos appears on the Gundestrup Cauldron, where an antlered figure sits cross-legged holding a torc and a horned serpent. I pulled heavily from that traditional imagery when designing this statue.

The Antlers: I gave Cernunnos a large crown of branching stag antlers because they are his most recognizable feature. To me, they connect him immediately with the forest, wild animals, growth, and the recurring cycles of nature.

The Torc: I included the large torc held close to his chest as a reference to ancient Celtic imagery. Torcs were important symbols of status, power, and prestige, and they appear prominently in depictions associated with Cernunnos.

The Horned Serpent: The serpent resting beside him is inspired by the ram-horned serpent seen in ancient Celtic religious art. I wanted it to remain close to his body rather than becoming a separate focal point, giving the sculpture a more unified silhouette.

His Seated Pose: I designed him sitting cross-legged rather than standing or raising a weapon. That calm pose gives him a grounded, almost meditative quality and helps emphasize his connection to nature rather than warfare.

The Woodland Backdrop: I placed a round, textured backdrop behind his antlers to frame the upper half of the statue and give it the feeling of an old woodland shrine or carved sacred image.

The Stag Skull: The small skull ornament on the base reinforces the deer imagery throughout the sculpture and adds a slightly darker element without overwhelming the rest of the design.

How It’s Made

I craft each statue using eco-friendly PLA bioplastic, which is derived from renewable plant-based sources like cornstarch. Because these are 3D printed layer by layer, each piece has a unique, subtle texture and small variations that make it one of a kind.

Design Note: I designed this Cernunnos statue with the antlers, serpent, torc, robes, and backdrop all forming one compact composition. I wanted plenty of detail while still keeping the overall sculpture sturdy and visually balanced.

Care Instructions

Temperature: Keep indoors and away from intense heat sources. PLA can warp above 120°F/50°C, so please do not leave him in a hot car or in a very hot sunny window.

Cleaning: Dust gently with a soft brush or microfiber cloth. If needed, spot clean with a barely damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals.

Whether you honor Cernunnos in your practice, work with the Horned God, follow a Celtic or Druid path, or simply love the imagery of ancient gods and the wild forest, I designed this statue to feel grounded, masculine, and deeply connected to the natural world.
